Ph.D. student in the scientific disciplinary field M-PED/03 at the University of Bologna since 2024, he conducts his doctoral research in the area of diversity management. His research interests range from neurodiversity to disability with a special focus on the issues of employment inclusion, executive functions, and on the development of soft skills, life skills, and social skills in neurodivergent people.
Educational background
Graduated with honors in Pedagogy and Education and Training Sciences (LM-85) in 2024 at the University of Rome “La Sapienza” with the thesis Montessori and Autism. An exploratory analysis of the validity of the didactic principles of Montessori pedagogy for neurodivergent development.
Teaching Activities
Since 2015 he has been an invited lecturer annually in workshops and guest seminars within the General Pedagogy course of Prof. Anna Salerni at the University of Rome “La Sapienza” on topics related to autism, neurodiversity and disability.
Since 2022 he has been holding regular trainings on educational intervention within the neurodiversity paradigm and is the creator and conductor of the module F Pedagogy of Neurodiversity: The Figure of the CARE Coach for People in the Autism Spectrum within the Italian Register of Professionals in Cognitive Affective Education (RIPECA) of the Spazio Asperger Association.
In 2023, he held a workshop within the 8th International Conference "Autisms. Broad Spectrum Lives. Multidisciplinariety and Neurodivergence" organized by Erickson Editions and was an invited speaker within the event Autism Works with Tony Attwood. An event on engagement, talent and the world of work.
In a.y. 2023/2024, he was also a lecturer within the Master's degree program 'ABA and neurodiversity: evidence-based strategies for individual and community development' at the University of Parma.
Also in 2024 he was part of the scientific committee and speaker within the international conference "Autism in Action. The role of executive functions in neurodiversity" organized by Edizioni Edra.
Scientific activities
From 2022 to 2024 he participated as a project manager for the partner CuoreMenteLab Impresa Sociale in the European Erasmus+ research project on language simplification “SIMPL4ALL,” and in 2023 he participated as a lecturer in the research project RI-CONNETTERSI carried out by the Messina Community Foundation ONLUS and captained by the Institute for Biomedical Research and Innovation of the National Research Council (IRIB-CNR).
He is also the author of publications in peer-reviewed pedagogical journals on the subject of ‘neurodiversity pedagogy’ as well as translator and editor of the "Unstuck & On Target!" executive function intervention programs for Edra types (Cannon et al., 2023; Strang et al., 2024). He also edited for LSWR the Italian edition of the self-help volumes “Autism Working” (Attwood & Garnett, 2021) and “Taking off the Mask” (Belcher, 2023).
Other activities
Since 2020, he has been founder and president of the association FuturAbilMente APS, a third sector organization that works to protect the rights of people with disabilities and their families with special regard to the implementation of Life Projects for people with disabilities.
Since 2021, he has been the pedagogical coordinator of the clinical center CuoreMenteLab Impresa Sociale and collaborates permanently within the Spazio Asperger Association.
