2021: Ph.D. in Applied Acoustics, Mechanics and Advanced Engineering Sciences (DIMSAI) program, Department of Industrial Engineering (DIN), University of Bologna.

2016: Master’s Degree in Building Engineering and Architecture, University of Bologna (110/110 with honours).

Scientific Activity

2021 - current: postdoctoral research fellow at the Department of Industrial Engineering (DIN), University of Bologna.

Research areas: architectural acoustics, acoustic simulations using hybrid wave-based and geometric approaches (FDTD, FEM, BEM, and GA), metamaterials applied to real case studies, calibration of numerical models and boundary condition uncertainties, acoustic comfort in educational and workplace environments, acoustic digitalization of historical and culturally significant buildings.

2022: Visiting postdoctoral researcher at TU Delft, Architecture and Building Technology (Netherlands).

2019: Visiting graduate student at the University of Edinburgh, Edinburgh College of Art (UK), Acoustics and Audio Group.

Author of around 40 national and international publications, including peer-reviewed journal articles and conference proceedings.

Reviewer for international journals such as Applied Acoustics, Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, Building Acoustics, Journal of Archaeological Science: Reports, Journal of Building Engineering, Acoustics, Applied Sciences, and Journal of Building Performance Simulation.

Session chairman at national and international conferences on architectural and computational acoustics.

Teaching Activity

2023 - 2024: Lecturer, Acoustics course (80 hours) at the Physics Section, DSFTA Department, University of Siena.

2022 - current: Academic Tutor for Building Thermophysics and Acoustics T, Civil Engineering program, University of Bologna.

2021 - 2023: Academic Tutor for Technical Physics and Building Systems T, Building Engineering program, University of Bologna (Ravenna campus).

2017 - current: Co-supervisor of 12 master's theses and 6 bachelor's theses.
