Giulia Fratoni is a Postdoc Research Fellow and Academic Tutor at the Department of Industrial Engineering (DIN), University of Bologna. Her research involves architectural and computational acoustics, focusing on sound propagation and acoustic comfort in educational and working environments. She earned a Ph.D. in 2021 with a dissertation on the accuracy of acoustic simulation technologies for enclosed spaces with hybrid wave-based and geometrical approaches. With a degree in Building Engineering and Architecture, her background lies at the intersection of the technical-scientific and the artistic-architectural spheres. Among her collaborations are those with the Audio and Acoustics Group at the University of Edinburgh and the Department of Architecture at TU Delft. Her publications span from optimizing acoustic metamaterials for indoor applications to the acoustic digitalization of historical and significant architectures, such as opera houses and worship spaces.
