A Marie Sklodowska-Curie researcher for the VAMP project at the University of Bologna since 2023, I carry out my research in the field of the semiotics of controversies. My research interests are particularly directed towards ecological controversies as a key to interpreting the Anthropocene, memory and the formation of collective identities, and semiotic theory and epistemology. Currently, I am mainly interested in the processes of inclusion/exclusion of non-humans in political debate, the contestation of large-scale infrastructure projects and extractivist interpretation of the environment.
Education
Graduated in Semiotics in 2014 from the Department of Communicazoine of the University of Bologna, I pursued my PhD in Language Sciences - Semiotics at the University of Toulouse 2 in 2019, with a thesis entitled Les nouvelles frontières du développement: l'idéologie durable. Une analyse sémiotique des textes onusiens. In 2022, I obtained a second doctorate in Cultural Heritage at the University of Palermo, with a thesis entitled Critique of the Anti-Mafia. Since 2015, I have been continuously teaching Communication, Text Semiotics, General Semiotics, Italian Language and Literature, Gastronomy Semiotics, Media Semiotics, Cultural Heritage Semiotics for Undergraduate and Master's degree courses at the Universities of Bologna, Toulouse and Palermo. From 2015 to 2017, he was Reader at the Department of Foreign Languages and Literatures at the University of Toulouse 2. From 2015 to 2019, he was Adjunct Professor at the Department of Language Sciences at the same university. In 2022-2023, I was the representative of post-doctoral researchers in the Projekt Laboratory Committee at the University of Nîmes.
