Since October 2023, Carlo Andrea Tassinari holds a Marie Curie Post-doctoral Fellowship for the project VAMP - Voices from the Anthropocene. Maps and Frameworks for Ecological Conflicts at the University of Bologna, in consortium with Universidad Estadual Paulista (UNESP) and Origens Media Lab. He holds a PhD in Language Sciences from the University of Toulouse 2 and a PhD in Cultural Heritage from the University of Palermo.
His research lies between semiotics and social sciences. Within the framework of VAMP, he is interested in the Anthropocene hypothesis from the perspective of a semiotics of culture that addresses ecological controversies as conflicts of meaning. Previously, he dealt with the environment and legal discourse, rhetoric and culture in anti-mafia movements, and the appropriation of AI in practices and work environments.
He has taught semiotics, communication and Italianistics at the Universities of Bologna, Toulouse, Palermo and of São Paulo. His research is published in several volumes and international journals.
