Alberto Grassetti is architect, engineer and PhD candidate. He graduated on 03/23/2022 with honors in Building Engineering-Architecture from Ama Mater Studiorum University of Bologna with a thesis in architectural and urban composition entitled “Elements for a city of limits. The case study of Pesaro” carried out together with the supervisor Prof. Matteo Agnoletto.
He was the winner in 2022 of a doctoral fellowship funded by the Department of Architecture of the University of Bologna and the Renzo Piano Foundation with the theme “The Redevelopment of the Porto Antico of Genoa. Projects, archive, future prospects”.
Currently, in addition to his research activities as a doctoral student, he collaborates with Prof. Matteo Agnoletto as a design tutor in the Architecture and Architectural Composition I course of the Degree in Architecture-Engineering at the University of Bologna. Since September 2024, Grassetti has been a guest researcher at the Department of Architecture at the University of Technology in Delft and collaborates with the PortCityFutures research group.
His research topics are mainly aimed at the study of architectural and urban phenomena of the city, with particular reference to their temporal and spatial evolution, climatic-environmental challenges and anthropogenic impact on the landscape.
