Dissertation topics suggested by the teacher.
Thesis topics are proposed according to the active projects and the research interests of the PI and the research group. Specific topics currently pursued are:
- development of photoresponsive peptide scaffolds for self-assembly.
- self-assembled donor-acceptor pairs for the development of materials with charge-transfer properties in solid state.
All theses require an experimental internship in which the student will conduct organic and peptide synthesis in solution-phase and/or solid-phase. The characterization of the developed compounds and of the designed properties is a crucial part of the experimental work. The main characterization techniques are standard, multidimensional and dynamic NMR, HPLC-MS, UV-Vis absorption and luminescence spectroscopy, circular dichroism (CD).
Students are encouraged to work autonomously on the project and are followed closely by the PI and on a daily basis a senior member of the research group.
Interested students can contact the PI to discuss in detail both Bachelor and Master thesis projects.
