Roberto Ruffilli Postdoctoral Fellow in Comparative Public Law at the Department of Political and Social Sciences of the University of Bologna. His research focuses on justice systems and comparative health law. He closely collaborates with the University of Bologna’s Center for Studies and Research on the Judicial System (CeSROG) and the Bologna Section of the National Research Council’s Institute of Legal Informatics and Judicial Systems.

Education

He graduated in Law (LL.B., five years, cum laude) in 2017 from the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia. He completed his Ph.D. in Legal Sciences from the University of Parma in 2021 with a dissertation on the American originalism debate. During his Ph.D., he was a Visiting Scholar at the Boston University School of Law and a Visiting Ph.D. at the Juridicum of Universität Wien.

Previous positions

He previously held postdoctoral fellowships at the Department of Law, University of Modena and Reggio Emilia.

Teaching Activity

Since 2024, he has taught Elements of Health Law (Modules II and III) at the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences, the University of Eastern Piedmont “Amedeo Avogadro.”

Scientific Activities

He is involved in national and international research projects on justice systems and health law. Previously, he was a Research Grant Holder in the FAR UNIMORE 2022 project, ‘Beyond the Hospital.’ The National Recovery and Resilience Plan and the Development of Italian Primary Care: A Law and Medicine Pilot Project for the Modena Province. He also serves as a referee for domestic and comparative law journals in public and comparative law.

Membership of Editorial and Scientific Journal Committees

Since 2023, he has been an Editorial Fellow of the Journal Nomos: Le attualità del diritto.
