Rita Gramellini is a PhD student in the 40th cycle of Modern Languages, Literatures and Cultures: Diversity and Inclusion – LINGMOD curriculum (Modern Languages Studies) at the University of Bologna, under the supervision of prof. Paola Puccini (supervisor) and prof. Valeria Zotti (co-supervisor). Her research focuses on the study of the specialised lexicon of cultural heritage through multilingual comparable and parallel corpora of travel literature, and on its translation using AI-based technologies.
She graduated with honours in Foreign Languages and Literature from the University of Bologna and obtained a master’s degree with honours in Language, Society, and Communication from the same university, presenting a thesis titled Promoting Cultural Heritage Tourism in Emilia-Romagna with the UniVOCIttà Project: Towards a Multilingual Literary Comparable Corpus and its Machine Translation.
She undertook study periods abroad at the Université de Paris Cité (France) and Leiden University (Netherlands) and participated in international conferences in Paris (France) and San Millán de la Cogolla (Spain).
