CURRENT
POSITION
Senior Researcher, since March 2024, in the scientific-disciplinary sector MED/14 Nephrology, Department of Medical and Surgical Sciences, University of Bologna, in collaboration with the USL of Romagna, Nephrology and Dialysis Unit – Ravenna Hospital. Current research fields include the definition of the progression and integrated management of chronic kidney disease, as well as the continuous study of the pathogenesis and treatment of immune-mediated glomerular nephropathies, with particular attention to the new pharmacological treatments available.

RESEARCH
ACTIVITIES
Research activities cover numerous aspects of kidney disease, including acute and chronic kidney injury (with particular focus on the progression of chronic kidney disease), the histopathological diagnosis of primary and secondary nephropathies, modern therapeutic approaches, and renal replacement treatments (both artificial and natural, with a focus on the immunological and therapeutic aspects of kidney transplantation) and liver function.
CLINICAL ACTIVITIES
Management of nephrology inpatients; organization and execution of renal biopsies with ultrasound or CT guidance, interpretation of histological samples, and therapeutic planning; management of patients in conservative therapy, preparation for pre-dialysis, and assistance during treatments (hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis); management of the kidney transplant waiting list, care of candidates in the pre- and post-operative phases, management of complications, and outpatient follow-up.
