Michele Pagani, conservator of cultural heritage, was born in Alfonsine in the province of Ravenna in 1966.

He lives between Lugo in Romagna and Casteldimezzo (Pesaro).

A strong youthful interest in restoration has directed him, since 1987, towards archaeological, monumental - architectural conservation and the protection of movable art assets.

Graduated in Modern Literature, historical-artistic address, at the University of Florence, with the thesis entitled "Taste in archaeological exhibitions in the Pesaro area from the Abbati Olivieri collection to the 20th century. ”.

In 1996 he founded the Etra enterprise, which deals with archaeological restoration, decorated architectural surfaces, stone materials, clay, paintings and preliminary projects for conservation operations.

He is a restorer, designer and director of interventions on public and private heritage.

Since 2006 and for some years he has taught Restoration at the "School for Mosaic Restoration" in Ravenna (high training and branch office of the Opificio delle Pietre Dure), part of the government department responsible for monuments, the environment and the architectural heritage for Ravenna, Forlì-Cesena, Ferrara and Rimini.

He is currently a contract professor at the Faculty of "Conservation and Restoration of Cultural Heritage of Ravenna" of the University of Bologna.

The restoration laboratory teaching, the study of works of art through the chemical-physical analyzes of the materials and archive documentation, guide him in the publication of research and in-depth essays regarding the Italian historical-artistic heritage and the history of the restoration.
