Melania Marano is an Archaeologist and Research Fellow at the Department of Cultural Heritage of the Alma Mater Studiorum-University of Bologna. Her research focuses on Phoenician and Punic Archaeology, with a particular interest in Household Archaeology, Production Archaeology and ancient foodways, as well as the application of modern technologies to Cultural Heritage.
Since 2010, she has been a member of various research teams at the Department of Cultural Heritage involved in archaeological missions in Sardinia, where she is responsible of specific sectors on the field and photogrammetric documentation.
Since 2021, she has been collaborating in the organization and implementation of educational workshops for students of the Master's degree in History, preservation and enhancement of artistic and archaeological heritage and landscape.
Since March 2025, she has been a member of the Council of the Cultural Heritage Department in the role of Representative of the Research Fellows.
