Curriculum vitae

Mario Ederoclite, Ph.D. in Educational Sciences, currently is a Research Fellow at the Department of Education “G. M. Bertin”, University of Bologna.

His doctoral research in Social Psychology, supervised by Prof. Paola Villano, focused on the theme of masculinity in educational contexts, adopting an integrated pedagogical and psychological perspective. The project concluded with a thesis awarded distinction (with honours) by the examination committee, centred on the analysis of social representations, gender stereotypes, and biases affecting men engaged in caregiving and educational roles in early childhood settings.

 

Education

He obtained his Master’s degree in Clinical and Community Psychology in 2008 from the University of Naples Federico II, with a thesis in Dynamic Psychology on the topic of online sexuality, explored through a clinical and relational lens.

In 2006, he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology of Relational and Developmental Processes at the same university, with a thesis in Developmental Psychology based on a research project investigating the role of the Neapolitan dialect in the construction of social identity.

He has enriched his academic background through several postgraduate programs combining psychological, educational, and pedagogical competencies. He holds a second-level Master's degree in School Psychology and a specialization in Clinical Sexology. His training also includes programs on school organization in multicultural contexts, learning disorders, music and sound pedagogy, and gender perspectives in teaching.

Licensed Psychologist since 2009, he is registered in Section A of the Psychologists’ Register of Emilia-Romagna.

 

Scientific Activity

He is currently involved in the SINCRONY project (interSectIonal iNClusion in delibeRation and participatiON with Youth), funded by the Horizon Europe program. The project investigates youth participation in decision-making processes, with a focus on intersectional inclusion, active citizenship, and the representation of diversity in educational and social contexts. Project supervisor: Dr. Iana I. Tzankova.

He gained international research experience during a visiting research period funded by the Marco Polo Program at the Faculdade de Psicologia e de Ciências da Educação da Universidade do Porto (FPCE), from September to December 2023, under the supervision of Prof. Isabel Menezes.
