Curriculum vitae

Luca Camanzi is a Full Professor at the University of Bologna, where he obtained his PhD in Agricultural Economics and Policy in 2002. He has been actively engaged in research since 2005, focusing on innovation in the agri-food system, entrepreneurial decision-making, marketing strategies, and supply chain organization. His primary research interests encompass key sectors such as fruit and vegetables, the wine industry, and fisheries within the Mediterranean region.

He is a member of several esteemed scientific societies, including the European Association of Agricultural Economists (EAAE), the European Association of Fisheries Economists (EAFE), the EuroMed Research Business Institute (EMRBI), the Società Italiana di Economia Agraria (SIDEA), and the Società Italiana di Economia Agro-Alimentare (SIEA).

Over the years, he has played a significant role in numerous international research projects, serving as both Principal Investigator and Work Package leader. Notable and recent projects include:
• INNOSOL4MED (Innovative Sustainable Solutions for Ready-to-Eat Traditional Mediterranean Products and Non-Conventional Healthy Foods) – WP Leader of WP4: Market Opportunities and Business Strategies (PRIMA-MED Section 2, 2022 Multi-topic).
• BIO-VALUE (Fork-to-Farm Agent-Based Simulation Tool Augmenting Biodiversity in the Agri-Food Value Chain) – Research Team Member (H2020-EU.3.2.1).
• MED-LINKS (Data-Enabled Business Models and Market Linkages Enhancing Value Creation and Distribution in Mediterranean Fruit and Vegetable Supply Chains) – International Coordinator (PRIMA-MED 2020, Section 2 Multi-topic).

He has authored over 50 scientific publications covering a diverse range of topics, with a strong emphasis on sustainable development, marketing, environmental impact assessment, ecolabeling, and the adoption of innovation in the agri-food sector. His work contributes particularly to advancing knowledge and policy recommendations in the fields of agricultural economics, food systems, and sustainable supply chains.
