Jovana Malinaric holds a PhD in Visual, Performative, and Media Arts from the University of Bologna in collaboration with the University of Utrecht. Her research entitled La dramaturgie come pensiero e pratica. The work of the dramaturg in contemporary theatre presents an innovative approach to contemporary dramaturgy as practical knowledge, analysing its creative processes and its relationship with the audience. It investigates the epistemological potential of the concepts of ‘criticality’, ‘response-ability’, ‘focalization’ and ‘conversation’ as an instructive framework that informs the modalities of knowledge production involved in creative practices.
She works internationally as a dramaturg and researcher and is dedicated to collaborative and experiential modes of research, learning and making that attend to diverse bodies, needs, politics and narratives.
She is co-founder of the artistic research project also.known.as. based in Italy.
