Education
Francesca Leonardi obtained her PhD in ‘Analysis and Management of Cultural Heritage’ at IMT Scuola di Alti Studi di Lucca in 2023, and graduated in ‘Economics and Management for Arts, Culture and Communication’ (MSc) at Bocconi University.
Academic career
She is a postdoctoral researcher (research fellow) at the University of Rome Tor Vergata, Department of Management and Law, where she is part of the Horizon project ‘Hephaestus. Evaluation of competences to develop life-long learning methodologies and curricula' (SECS-P/10) and is Teaching Assistant for courses in Human Resources.
Previously she was an assignee at IMT Scuola di Alti Studi of the PRIN project ‘L'Italia a nuvolette. Indagine sulla filiera del fumetto in Italia’ (SECS-P/10) and participated in several other research projects during her PhD. Prior to her PhD she was a research fellow at the ASK research centre of Bocconi University and Teaching Assistant for several specialised and three-year degree courses at Bocconi University.
Teaching activities
She is currently an adjunct lecturer of the course ‘Business Strategy and Innovation in Cultural and Creative Industries’ at the University of Bologna. In 2018 and 2020 he taught the course, together with other lecturers, of ‘Art Market’ at the Brera Academy of Fine Arts.
Scientific activity
He is currently Guest Scholar at IMT Scuola di Alti Studi di Lucca. In 2022 she did a research period as Visiting scholar at the University of Gothenburg in the Departments of Design and Critical Heritage Studies. In 2023 she was Scientific Coordinator of the Summer School ‘Dissonances. Re-interpreting and re-assessing difficult heritage' at the MT Scuola di Alti Studi in Lucca. She has participated in several research projects and published in several scientific journals.
Institutional Activities and Academic Assignments
In 2024 she founded the Italian Chapter of the Association of Critical Heritage Studies, of which she is also the coordinator.
Other activities
After graduating, she worked in various cultural institutions in Milan (HangarBicocca, Triennale di Milano, BASE Milano), covering different roles (press office, fundraising, cultural programming assistance and exhibitions).
