Short Bio

I hold a BA in History (2010) and an MA (2012) in History and Civilization from the University of Pisa. In 2017 l completed a PhD in Humanities from the University of Trento. I research 20th century Mediterranean history, with a focus on the experience and legacy of Italian Fascism. My doctoral thesis drew on multi-archival research in Rome, Rhodes and London to examine the Italian regime in the Dodecanese Islands (1912-1947). Currently, I am specialising in the history of higher education in Italy. My first book, “ Università e Pace ” (Pisa University Press 2022), provides an overview of the development of peace studies at the University of Pisa. It situates this phenomenon within local political dynamics and transnational debates on the ethical dilemmas related to socially responsible science.
