The PhD student is mainly involved in environmental impact assessments using Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) methodology. He has carried out studies and analyses of this kind in various fields and sectors:
- laboratory tests for PFAS abatement techniques on landfill leachates;
- treatment plants for industrial wastewater and full-scale landfill leachates;
- bio-based and fossil-based materials for flooring in the naval sector;
- plastic and rubber materials for the manufacturing sector;
- valorisation of biomass waste for the production of cosmetics;
The PhD student has also investigated other research topics such as
- innovative techniques at the laboratory, pilot and plant scale for the abatement of perfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) in liquid matrices and sewage sludge;
- stardand and innovative methodologies for calculating the carbon stored, absorbed and released by bio-based products along their life cycle;
- distribution of regional and local environmental impacts along international supply chains;
Member of the Communication Commission of the Department of Industrial Chemistry.
