Scientific activity
Since 2012 he has been dealing in particular with issues related to socially engaged art, studying its origins in the US context of the early 90s. He deals with art and activism both from the point of view of artistic production and criticism and from a point of view linked to the sphere of digital and hacking.
At the moment the central themes of his research are the recontextualization of public art in Italy, the dynamics related to political activism, urban regeneration, performance and gender studies.
Curatorial Projects
Since 2010 he has curated several exhibitions in Italian and international galleries / museums. He was curator in residence at Node Center for Curatorial Studies (Berlin 2013) and ZK / U (Berlin 2014). He curated the series of exhibitions Declinazioni di Comunità (2015) at the Luigi Pigorini Ethnographic Museum. From 2013 to 2020 he wrote for the Contemporart art magazine creating the Arte Sociale column.
Artistic Projects
Since 2016, together with the artist Luca Resta, he has created the AUTOPALO artistic research project which, through the game of football, reflects on issues related to the activation of participation and the relationship with the community. AUTOPALO was presented in Italian and international spaces and galleries (MUFOCO, 2021; Palais de Tokyo 2018)
