27 novembre 2024, h. 16.30-19.00: Mambo (Museo d'arte moderna, Bologna). Sala conferenze. Tradurre i corpi, tradurre i concetti. Un incontro tra arte e filosofia / Translating Bodies, Translating Concepts. Between Art and Philosophy
Nel contesto del progetto PRIN 2022, “Hegelian Constellations of the Feminine. A Hyperarchive for an Inclusive Bildung”, il Dipartimento di Filosofia ha organizzato – in collaborazione con MAMBO e con il centro di ricerca Almæsthetics – un incontro al crocevia tra arte e filosofia sull’importanza della pratica della traduzione, con ospiti Cally Spooner e Bruno Haas. La discussione degli interventi sarà animata da Carlo Gentili, Flavio Alessi e Chiara Montalti. Coordinano Eleonora Caramelli e Diego Donna.
The workshop orbits around a new book on “performance” by artist Cally Spooner, titled "A Hypothesis of Resistance”, which comprises of five essays and an expanded set of footnotes. Each essay holds and examines temporalities which defy and eclipse the standardizations that drive individual and societal bodies to perform toward an entirely metric-oriented future, beginning with “Asynchronicity” then extending to “Rehearsal,” “The Present Tense,” “Undetectability,” and “Duration,” A Hypothesis of Resistance will be positioned in relation, and in response, to a number of political and financial catastrophes, from 1947, up until the present day, manifested via screenings, a listening session, reading groups, discussion and a performance by Michelangelo Miccolis, titled ‘by all accounts, this was a very ordinary man’.
