Yalda Yarandi is a Ph.D. student at the Department of Industrial Engineering (DIN) of Alma Mater Studiorum - University of Bologna.
Research Focus
Her research focuses on leveraging advanced AI technologies to solve real-world industrial challenges. She is developing AI models for applications such as predictive maintenance, energy efficiency, and process automation, with the goal of making AI solutions practical and adaptable across various industries.
Education
Since November 2024, she has been pursuing her Ph.D. in Mechanics and Advanced Engineering Sciences, with a project titled “Artificial Intelligence Algorithms for Monitoring and Control of Wave Energy Converters.”
She received her Master's Degree in Information Technology, specializing in Artificial Intelligence (AI) with a focus on Natural Language Processing (NLP), in 2024. Her thesis, “Video Subtitle Translation System Using Deep Neural Networks,” was later implemented as a subtitle tool for educational videos at a company.
Experience
She worked as an Undergraduate Researcher in AI Laboratory from February 2021 to December 2021, followed by a Research Assistant position in NLP lab from December 2022 to March 2024. In addition to her academic and research experience in Artificial Intelligence, she has approximately 3 years of experience working as a Software Engineer.
