Valerio Melandri is a leading figure in fundraising, known for his contributions to fundraising education and practices in Italy. He studied at New York University, earning a Master’s in Nonprofit Management (1993-1996). Currently, he is a tenured researcher with national qualification as Associate Professor, teaching “Principles and Techniques of Fundraising” at the University of Bologna, where he also directs the Master’s Program in Fundraising. His influence is international, as he is a visiting professor at Columbia University. He founded fundraising.it, the most visited Italian website on fundraising, and in 2008 established the Fundraising Festival, now the largest fundraising conference in Europe, attracting over 1,500 participants annually. Melandri has published numerous books and academic articles on fundraising, significantly contributing to the academic and professional literature in this field
