Valeria Taurisano

Her main research topics concerns genetics and genomics applied to livestock species and wild species, including pig, cattle, rabbit, sea cucumber, sea bass and bees. Her research interests are mainly towards the application of genomics in the animal production sector, for food characterization, authentication, traceability and for environmental characterization. Her main activities include molecular biology techniques such as DNA/RNA extraction, PCR-RFLP, Sanger Sequencing, NGS Sequencing with S5 platform. Moreover, she can manage biological databases and bioinformatic tools (NCBI, BLAST, ENSEMBL), DNA sequence analysis and read alignment softwares (Galaxy, CodonCode, MEGA, ClustalW). She is author of 17 peer-reviewed publications (h index = 7, 26/06/2024).
