Dr. Susanna Villani (Ph.D.) is Junior Assistant Professor in EU law at the Department of Legal Studies of the University of Bologna and is involved in the extended partnership PE01 – “Future Artificial Intelligence Research” FAIR - PNRR, Spoke 8 – Pervasive AI. In 2018, she got the PhD in EU law at the University of Bologna in co-tutorship with the National Distance Education University (UNED) in Madrid. Currently, she is staff member of a number of national and international research projects. Since 2024, she has been qualified to hold the position of Associate Professor for GIUR-10/A (European Union Law).
Current research topics include: Artificial Intelligence and EU law; EU legal instruments and judicial protection in the field of climate change; the relationship between environmental degradation and migration; sustainable development and trade; international and EU disaster response law; EU external action; interaction between international law and EU law.
