Stefano Fava

Research fellow at the Organic Chemistry Laboratory of the Department of Chemistry "Giacomo Ciamician" Via S.Alberto 163, Ravenna. He carries out research activities aimed at:

- characterizing, from a chemical point of view, the polymeric composition of commercial plastics and bioplastics, with particular focus on leachates, in terms of content of organic and inorganic additives and their behavior in the aqueous phase.

- evaluating the potential release of microplastics into water by the aforementioned materials, working on the development of a protocol that provides for their determination and quantification through increasingly environmentally sustainable treatments.

- valorizing agricultural biomass (within the PNRR project, Campione Nazionale Agritech, spoke 8) through biotechnological approaches such as anaerobic digestion/fermentation to produce chemicals and materials (organic acids, PHA and VFA) from agricultural waste and by-products.
