He is a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Action (MSCA) Global Research Fellow at the University of Bologna and Brown University (Providence, RI, USA, Partnership). He is the Principal Investigator (PI) of the three-year project The Intermediate Bodies of the Roman Cities: Sociability and Agency of the Middling Groups in Roman Italy (Late Republic - 3rd c. AD) - InBoRC funded by the EU. InBoRC includes: an outgoing phase at Brown University (18 months), a secondment at Université Paris Cité (6 months, FR), and a return to the University of Bologna.
He obtained his PhD in a joint program between the University of Bologna and the Université de Poitiers (FR) in June 2020. He has held two research fellowships and a fixed-term researcher (RTDA) contract at the University of Bologna.
His main research areas concern the Social History of the Roman world and Latin Epigraphy; he also has interests in the Economics of the Roman world and the reception of Roman history.
