Former Full Professor of Biochemistry. Her research interest covers the field of cellular and nutritional biochemistry. The studies are focused on the protective/preventive role of nutraceutical bioactive components of the diet in the prevention/counteraction of chronic degenerative diseases as cardiovascular and neurodegenerative diseases. Author of many peer-review papers in international journals, she participates to national and international (FPVII, Horizon2020) projects. She was the Coordinator of the Nutrional and Environmental Biochemisty Group of the Italian Society of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology and member of the Board of the Society From 2021 to 2024 she was the Coordinatori of the Master Degree LM-61 Human Nutrition, Wellbeing and Health
