Ulisse Aldrovandi's Museum and Library Collection (1522–1605): This collection is preserved in the Palazzo Poggi Museum and the University Library of Bologna. It includes numerous specimens, watercolor illustrations, woodcut matrices, a 15-volume herbarium of dried plants, hundreds of manuscripts, and thousands of printed works. Part of the material has been digitized and is involved in numerous digital projects, which began in the early 2000s and have significantly expanded since the celebrations of Aldrovandi's 500th birth anniversary. These efforts focus on the implementation of cutting-edge digital humanities technologies and Linked Open Data.
