I am working on the project "Mechanisms and processes driving the formation of an accretionary wedge in an obduction orogen: insights from the Jabal Akhdar and Saih Hatat tectonic windows in Oman", which combines a structural study of the regional deformation recorded in the Oman Mountains with systematic microstructural, petrographic, and metamorphic analyses. The multidisciplinary and multiscale study of the deformation and metamorphic conditions is aimed at understanding and quantifying the combined development of an orogenic wedge and ophiolite obduction in the context of subduction zones, representing a case study to gain insights into subduction mechanisms at a global scale.
