Research

Keywords: NLP for Food for Healthy Life

My PhD research focuses on Natural Language Processing (NLP), specifically on the development of AI-driven tools to automate the full-text reading, data extraction, and report generation processes for Systematic Literature Reviews (SLRs).

This research is closely linked to a broader project on Human Life Expectancy, where we investigate factors influencing human lifespan, healthspan, and disease burden (e.g., DALY). Our AI tool integrates regional dietary patterns, such as those in Italy, with lifestyle data to estimate both expected and healthy life expectancy. Regular SLRs are essential to update our algorithms with the latest scientific findings, making my NLP work critical for maintaining the accuracy and relevance of our models.

Throughout my research, I have developed various machine learning and NLP models, also worked with AI agents, large language models (LLMs), vector databases, and tools like LangChain, with a focus on processing unstructured data from sources like PDFs. I am also collaborating with CINECA on this project.
