Graduated in Biology at the University of Naples in 2012, Pietro Cacialli became doctoral student in "Model Organisms in Biomedical and Veterinary Research", conducting studies on the molecular targets of post-traumatic neuro-regeneration in zebrafish model. From 2014 to 2016 he proceeded his research at the INSERM of University of Rennes (France). He obtained the title of PhD in 2016. On December 2016 he became Post-Doc at University of Geneva (Switzerland). His research led to the identification of a key gene in hematopoiesis, and his findings were published in high-impact journals, such as
Nature Communications and
EMBO. In 2021 he becomes Maître-Assistant at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Geneva. He is guest editor of
Journal of Visualized Experiments (JoVE) and reviewer for different scientific journals, including
Nature Aging and
Blood Advances. His research was awarded by various swiss foundations, such as
Gertrude von Meissner,
Ernest Boninchi and
Machaon. In 2022 he became Junior Assistant Professor at University of Bologna, obtaining the National Scientific Qualification as Associate Professor (disciplinary field: 05/B2).
