Pier Giorgio Chiara

Pier Giorgio Chiara is an Assistant Professor (Junior) at the University of Bologna, Department of Legal Studies and CIRSFID-Alma AI Research Centre. 

From 2019 to 2022, he was a doctoral researcher in the Law, Science and Technology Joint Doctorate - Rights of Internet of Everything, funded by Marie Sklodowska-Curie Actions and he successfully defended the doctoral thesis in March 2023.

His main research interests include:

• Regulation of new technology, particularly in the field of cybersecurity, as well as privacy and data protection and artificial intelligence;
• Technology and the law, particularly with regard to technical issues related to cybersecurity (e.g., cryptography, technical standards, etc.);
• Normative impacts (ethical, legal and social) of the 'digital revolution'.
