MOST RECENT RESEARCH

Since 2017

Study of the Hg-Sb ore deposits located in the Mt. Amiata mine district (Italy). This projects involves a multi-technique study and the construction of a dataset on ore deposits and geothermal areas.
This research is funded by the Parco Nazionale Museo delle Miniere dell'Amiata.

2017-2020
"Olkiluoto project": Definition of the multiscalar spatial and temporal relationships between brittle and ductile deformation within the faults of the Olkiluoto high-level nuclear waste disposal site.
This research was funded by the Finnish company Posiva Oy.

2007-2012
Leader of the UNESCO-IGCP project No. 540 titled “Gold-bearing hydrothermal fluids of orogenic deposits”.
This project involved c. 50 geologists from 15 distinct countries, and was closed by the publication of the "Geological Society of London Special Publication No. 402" titled: “Gold-transporting fluids in the Earth’s crust”. I edited this special volume together with prof. John R. Ridley (Colorado State University)
