She graduated from Bologna University Medical School with full
honors, and passed with full honors the Postgraduate Boards in
Internal Medicine at Bologna University Medical School.
Since 2000 she started to be interested in cardiovascular
research. She spent some time at the NIH, NHLBI (Bethesda, MD,
USA), and then at the Brown University (RI, USA), where in 2002,
she begun to work with optical coherence tomography for feasibility
and safety of its application to intravascular imaging. Now she
works at the University of Bologna where she teaches at the
graduate course and postgraduate course, and performs clinical
research focusing on the pathophysioloy of acute coronary syndrome.
She is the author of several manuscripts. The relevance of her
research is documented by over many presentations at prestigious
international congress as ACC, AHA and ESC. She is Fellow of the European Society of Cardiology, Member of the
American Heart Association (Council of Circulation and Council of
Basic Cardiovascular Sciences) and of the American Physiology
Society.
