In the Molecular Toxicology laboratories directed by the teacher, in vivo and in vitro studies are carried out in the context of the metabolism of drugs and xenobiotics in general, with particular reference to the identification of epigenetic properties of the molecule.The non-genetic toxic effects correlated with the chemical carcinogenesis, closely related to the manipulation of xenobiotic metabolism by the drug under study, are indeed investigated.
This scientific issue finds ample space in the pre-clinical development of the drug of Science oh the Drug.
Research is currently being carried out also in the field of non-combustion nicotine controlled-release devices such as conventional e-cigarettes (e-cigs) and not (iQos).
