PhD student (40° cycle) in Earth, Life and Environmental Sciences (STVA). The title of my project is "Mitonuclear coevolution and life-traits evolution: a comparative genomic approach" where I delve into the the evolutionary forces that shaped nuclear and mitochondrial genome suring their cohabitation inside eukaryotic cells and how the latter shaped some of the most characteristic life-traits (like longevity). The project will be carried on with the supervision of Professor Fabrizio Ghiseli and co-supervision of Professor Liliana Milani.
During the first semester, I am also a teaching assistant for the course "Laboratory of Comparative Genomic" offered to second year students of the master's degree in Biodiversity and Evolution.
