Keywords: Statistical Physics Fluctuation Theory Stochastic Processes Extreme Value Theory

The main research topics concern the theory of stochastic processes, which are fundamental in the description of the physics of complex systems. I am interested in the transport properties of systems in which translational invariance is broken, due to spatial inhomogeneity or disorder. I am also interested in first-passage and persistence problems for stochastic processes, which have applications in equilibrium and non-equilibrium statistical mechanics, as well as in the theory of extreme values, which is useful for assessing the occurrence and intensity of extreme events.
