Marinella Quaranta is a Ph.D. student in the program “Law, Science and Technology” at the University of Bologna. She studied European Legal Studies at the University of Turin and graduated with a thesis focused on the development of the European regulation on AI and its intersection with European medical frameworks. Within the thesis, she started a collaboration with the hospital “A.O.U Città della Scienza e della Salute” in Turin. She also began a fellowship in the IT Department at the University of Turin. The major projects she has been involved in are “Circular Health 4 Industry (Ch4)” and “Next Generation UPP”. She has worked alongside the staff of the Molinette Hospital in Turin, where she focused on legal requirements related to AI systems in clinical imaging. Her Ph.D. project draws on these experiences.
