Mariangela is currently conducting research in the field of English-Medium Instruction (EMI), with a particular focus on variations in classroom discourse during Engineering lectures delivered in English, using a multimodal approach. Her research interests include Computer-Mediated Communication, Corpus-Assisted Discourse Studies (CADS), discourse in new media (with a focus on Media Education from a multimodal perspective), and, more broadly, the relationship between language, identity, and power. She is also involved in Data-Driven Learning and teaching approaches based on corpora, including multimodal ones.
