Lucio Nobile is Full Professor at the School of Engineering and
Architecture of the University of Bologna-Campus of Cesena.He
covered before the position of Assistant Professor at the School of
Engineering and Associate Professor at the School of
Architecture of the University of Bologna. He graduated in
Civil Engineering at the University of Naples with magna
cum laude.
Since 1993 he has been holding classes related to the field of
Mechanics of Materials, Mechanics of Structures and Rehabilitation
of Historical Buildings.
In 2005 he has been elected Coordinator of the Education
program in Architettura e processo edilizio"
of the University of Bologna.
He has been and is a member of the scientific editorial board of the
international journals "Theoretical and applied Fracture
Mechanics","Structural Durability & Health Monitoring","AES-Technical
Reviews Journals" , "Recent Patents on Mechanical Engineering ",
"Journal of Structures"and "The Scientific World
Journal";Editor of the section ”Fracture Mechanics” of the journal “Current Topics in Engineering ”.
He has been member of RILEM-Committee 89-FMT
Fracture Mechanics of Concrete: Test Methods" and
SEM Committee-Subdivision on Fracture of Concrete and Rock.
He is member of "Mesomechanics Society","Italian Group of Fracture"
and "Italian Association of Theoretical and Applied
Mechanics".
He has been member of the Doctoral School
in Structural Mechanics and Hydraulics at the
University of Bologna.
During his activity he has given lectures on topics concerned with
Fracture Mechanics and Mechanics of Materials.
He promoted a number of scientific initiatives at an international
level, organizing international scientific conferences.
He managed and joined a number of financial contributions for
individual projects both on national scale, from M.U.R.S.T. (the
Ministry for University and Scientific and Technological
Research)and from C.N.R. (the Italian Council for National
Researches).
Moreover he attended many national and international seminars, and
many international conferences and workshops.
He has been Agreement Coordinator of Cooperation between the School of Architecture of the University of Bologna and the School of Mechanical Engineering of The East China University of Science and Technology" from 03-23-2003 to 03-22-2006.
He developed his research activity basically on the following
themes: i) Fracture Mechanics; ii) Mechanics of Materials; iii)
Mechanics of Structures.
He is author of 130 papers published in national and
international conference proceedings, books, and international
journals. Four of six journal articles submitted to
VQR (Assessment for Research Quality) 2004-2010/2011-2014 have been
evaluated excellent by ANVUR (National Agency of Assessment
for University and Research ).
