PhD title: Structural characterization of fluid pathways in subduction

The project will focuses on the topic of fluid-deformation interactions in subduction zones and their feedback with seismicity. The project will involves fieldwork in different orogens (including the Alps and the Apennines) and the multiscale study of rock samples subducted to different pressure and temperature conditions, with the aim of identifying and characterizing the main fluid percolation structures. Afterward, the deformation mechanisms responsible for the development of these structures will be characterized. Expected results will include the characterization of metamorphic-deformation processes allowing fluid migration in subduction zone, fluid composition and origin, and feedback with seismicity.
