My research interests include the interoperability of IoT systems through the use of the Web of Things, IoT architectures in application contexts such as Smart Agriculture, Industry 4.0, monitoring, and the use of IoT for Digital Twin implementation and Blockchain-based contexts.

Education

I graduated in Computer Science from the Department of Computer Science and Engineering (DISI) at the University of Bologna and earned my Ph.D. in Computer Science and Engineering in 2021.

Academic Career

After two years as a research fellow in the IoTPrismLab research group (https://iotprismlab.com) from 2021 to 2023 at the University of Bologna, I became a fixed-term researcher (type A) in 2023 in the disciplinary sector INF/01, at the Department of Computer Science and Engineering of the University of Bologna.

Teaching Activities

Currently, I am a lecturer for the Computer Science course in the Bachelor's Degree in Materials Science at the University of Bologna. In 2024, I will teach the Ph.D. course IoT Data Analytics at the University of Bologna, the Sport Analytics course for the Master's in Communication and Marketing of Sport at the University of Bologna, and the Things that Compute and Interact course for the Master's in Artificial Intelligence and Innovation Management at the Bologna Business School (BBS). Additionally, in 2024, I will teach in the initial training courses for secondary school teachers (60CFU and 30CFU).

Scientific Activities

I have participated in numerous national and international research programs, including Agritech Spoke 3 (PNRR), DS2 - INAIL BRIC/2021, SEAWALL (BIREX), MAC4PRO - INAIL BRIC/2018, Arrowhead Tools, and “BEE-DRONES” - ALMAIDEA. I was a full-time visiting researcher at the Huawei European Research Center in Munich during my Ph.D. from September to December 2019. I serve as a referee for international journals in Computer Science and participate in TPCs of international conferences. I also organize and coordinate workshops on my areas of expertise.

Membership in Scientific and Editorial Committees

In 2024, I am the Executive Guest Editor of the Special Issue "AIFI - AI For Interoperability" for the scientific journal Future Generation Computer Systems (FGCS).

Awards and Recognitions

In 2024, I received the Best Paper Award at IEEE TRUSTSENSE 2024 - IEEE Percom Workshops.

Other Activities

From 2021 to 2022, I served as an Expert for the European Commission on the topic of Personal Digital Twin (PDT). From 2021 to 2023, I taught the course "Security for Systems and Infrastructures Based on Linux Technologies" at Fondazione Aldini Valeriani (FAV).

In 2018, I was an instructor for the “Programma il Futuro” course, Introduction to Coding and Computational Thinking, organized by CINI and Google Education.

In 2021, I obtained the teaching qualification for the A-41 class in Computer Science and Information Technology.
