Lorenzo Nissen

LN is a fixed-term researcher since 2022. In 2023 he has obtained the National Scientific Qualification for the position of university professor of the 2nd rank - disciplinary field 07/I1; SSD AGRI/08. He is H-Index 18 with 45 articles and 1085 cit. He holds an international PhD in Microbial Ecology. He is an expert on prebiotics, hemp and Bifidobacteriaceae. He is involved in omics science and multivariate statistics to study the interaction between food and gut microbiota with in vitro gut models, as MICODE (https://x.com/micode_lab) with Prof. A. Gianotti, at CIRI Agro (https://centri.unibo.it/agroalimentare/it). He is Associate Editor for Open Life Science (Ed. De Gruyter) Frontiers in Food Microbiology; Frontiers in Microrganisms of Digestive Systems (Frontiers), Foods (MDPI) and Discover Foods (Nature). He is in the Unit 4 of the project PRIN 2022 Combined Approaches to expLore the Impact of wholemeal semolina and pasta processing on MEtabolic RespOnses (CALIMERO). LN is Leader of the WG1 of the European project INFOGUT in the COST ACTION 23110 International network on in vitro colon models simulating gut-mediated interactions (INFOGUT).
