Research Statement:
Ivan's expertise is in integrating IoT technologies in Structural Health Monitoring (SHM), particularly in bridge monitoring. He has worked on projects involving data acquisition, processing, and visualization in SHM systems. His current research focuses on the edge-cloud continuum and IoT, emphasizing proactive edge caching and interoperability.

Project Participation:
He has been involved in various projects like Digital Smart Structures-DS2, Smart Maintenance of Industrial Plants and Civil Works through 4.0 Monitoring Technologies and Prognostic Approaches (MAC4PRO), Arrowhead Tools, Smart Water Management Platform (SWAMP), My3Sec, and INCT of the Future Internet for Smart Cities.
Editorial Roles and Conference Organization:
Ivan has served as a review editor for Frontiers and he served as general chair for the IEEE IoTime workshop in 2022 and 2023. Further, he has been involved in organizing several international workshops and conferences related to IoT and technology, such as IIWOT and WiSARN.
Teaching:
He has provided tutorship for the Masters Course in Internet of Things at the University of Bologna and has taught various courses at Faculdades Metropolitanas Unidas (FMU).
