Associate professor at the University of Bologna since 2024, he previously worked in renowned foreign institutions such as the London School of Economics (visiting scholar), the University of Stavanger (postdoc), the University of Vienna (assistant professor), the University of Inland Norway (first associate professor and then full professor). He carries out his research in the field of economic geography. His research interests are in particular in the geography of innovation and regional sciences. He currently focuses his research on the political dimension of territorial development and on the study of local and regional change agents.
Engaged in national and international research projects, he collaborates with several European Institutes. Author of numerous publications, his studies have been published by authoritative international journals such as, among others,
Regional Studies,
Growth and Change,
Journal of Rural Studies,
Science and Public Policy and
Cambridge Journal of Regions, Economy and Society.
