Giulia Masi got her PhD in Materials Engineering in 2018 in the framework of EU M-ERA.net B-IMPACT project (2015-2017). She was Visiting Researcher abroad: 7-month at the Geopolymer Centre Group (Curtin University, Perth, Western Australia, in 2013) and 6-month at the Laboratoire TRACES (University of Toulouse, France, 2017). Her PhD research was awarded by two prizes: National Grant AIMAT 2021 for the best PhD thesis in the field of Materials Science (ING-IND/22) between 2018-2020 and Coating 2023 Early Career Investigator Award promoted by MDPI. After her PhD, she was a post-Doc at DICAM (University of Bologna) for 3 years (2018-2021), collaborating in RAPCON project on the use of reclaimed asphalt pavement as recycled aggregates for concrete in view of the circular economy concepts. Since 2021, she is an assistant professor at the University of Bologna in the Materials Science laboratory (LASTM, DICAM). She is currently focusing on the development of sustainable inorganic materials by alkali activation in the industrial and construction fields, especially investigating the durability aspects with a multi-analytical approach.
