After her Bachelor's degree in Industrial Chemistry in 2019 at Bologna University, Giorgia Scorzoni earned a Master's degree in Industrial Chemistry in 2022 with an experimental thesis named "Reactivity studies of Rhodium carbonyl clusters with Au(I) salts". She then worked as a fellow researcher for one year in Inorganic Chemistry before she started her PhD in November 2023 at the University of Bologna. Her research studies focus on synthesizing and characterizing new metal-carbonyl clusters (MCCs) as catalyst precursors. She deals with the Schlenk technique, due to the high instability in the air of MCCs, IR spectroscopy, and NMR characterization. During her research career she has co-authored three Bachelor's theses about MCCs. Moreover, she has collaborated with the Catalysis research group to synthesize catalysts for heterogeneous catalysis, such as the photodecomposition of ammonia for hydrogen production. During this project she was a co-author to one Master's thesis.
In the current Academic Year 2024/2025, she is an academic tutor in General Chemistry at the Department of Physics and Astronomy of the University of Bologna.
