Francesco Carriere graduated in 2018 from the University of Rome "La Sapienza" in Philology, Literature and History of the Ancient World. He obtained his PhD in Ancient History in 2022 at the University of Genoa, in a joint programme with Sorbonne Université, under the supervision of Francesca Gazzano (Genoa) and Giusto Traina (Sorbonne). From February 2023 to January 2024, he held a research fellowship at the University of Genoa entitled "Diplomatic Muses. Cultural and intercultural aspects of diplomatic relations between the Greek East and Roman power (3rd-1st century BC) (coordinator: Francesca Gazzano, University of Genoa). Her main research interests are ethnographic-geographical traditions from the Archaic to the Roman period; the relationship between the Hellenistic kingdoms and Anatolian culture; Roman rule in Anatolia.
