Short Bio and Academic Position. Federica Zonzini holds a fixed-term Assistant Professor position in Electronics within the Intelligent Sensor Systems Lab research group of the University of Bologna. She completed her PhD in Structural and Environmental Health Monitoring and Management (SEHM2) in 2022 within the same University, from which she also received (cum laude) the B.Sc. and M.Sc. in Electronics in 2016 and 2018, respectively.
Since July 2017, she has been collaborating with the ARCES research center in the field of structural health monitoring, with particular emphasis on the development, implementation and integration of signal processing algorithms in embedded systems designed for real-time and over-time monitoring.
Research interests. Her research interests include the design of intelligent sensor systems enabled by edge/extreme-edge computing functionalities and tiny machine learning capabilities for a wide range of applications (including monitoring infrastructures, industry and agriculture), focusing on the joint optimization of hardware-software components.
