Description:: EUBIROD is an active international collaboration between different regional and national diabetes data sources, aiming at the implementation of a Shared Evidence-based Diabetes Information System through a systematic data collection of diabetes complications and health outcomes across Europe. Since 2004, the initiative has developed and applied the open source software NeuBIRO, using Java and R to deliver indicators through a common platform for federated analytics (see http://www.eubirod.eu).

Description:: The Collaborative Health Information European Framework (CHIEF) promoted by the Joint Research Centre of the European Commission (EU-JRC) in collaboration with DG-SANTE is a EU think-thank of new ideas and solutions to overcome the difficulties and hindrances towards the regular collection of NCD indicators experienced by EU projects of health information during the last two decades. The scope of CHIEF is “to provide expert input for the design and implementation of a sustainable information system that will enable the periodic collection and progressive scalability of a EU-harmonised set of indicators across NCDs, within the current and future flagship initiatives”.
